April - May

International Ethnographic Festival “Velykden in Kosmach” (Easter in Kosmach)

This celebration takes place in spring, in the Carpathian village of Kosmach (Ivano-Frankvisk region). Here you can fully breathe the clean mountain air, quench your thirst with healthful water from springs and life-giving sources of the wisdom of Hutsul culture. Authentic musical groups from Ukraine and abroad take part in the festival. The Ukrainian “pysanka” (Easter egg) will not cease to amaze you with its beauty.

 June – July

 All-Ukrainian Festival of Lemko Culture “Dzvony Lemkivshchyny” (Chimes of Lemkivshchyna)

In the first days of summer, come and visit the festivities in Ternopil region. Creative groups and performers from Ukraine and abroad await their guests. There is a town of craftsmen nearby where everyone can see how “vyshyvankas” (embroidered shirts and blouses) or bead necklaces, clay bowls, willow wicker products, etc., are made, and also buy exclusive products.

International Ethnic Festival “Krayina Mriy” (Land of Dreams)

Every year “Spivoche Pole” (Singing Field) in Kyiv invites you to the Land of Dreams. Weavers and potters, painters and carvers, craftsmen who weave products from straw... to list everything is simply impossible! Live performances of modern and authentic music groups from Ukraine, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Poland, Croatia, Georgia and other countries. The most famous performers in the world are invited to give evening performances. 

Eco-cultural ethno-festival “Trypilske Kolo” (Trypillian Circle) (June 28 – 29) 

Such holidays as Youth Day and Constitution Day coincide with the holding of this activity on the picturesque hills of Rzhyshchiv near Kyiv. The festival has a four-year cycle and every festival year is devoted to the theme of one of the elements of nature – water, earth, air and fire. You will be able to live in a tent camp on Trypillian land as far from city pressure as possible. Days of musical and song celebrations and unforgettable impressions from participating in festival events await guests.

Folk ethno-festival in the village of Pidkamin 

At the end of July, Lviv region invites you to the village of Pidkamin for a celebration that has everything necessary for happiness: performances of folk groups, a picturesque sacred nook of Ukraine with Cossack graves and ancient defense walls, master classes and exhibitions of crafts, tasting of local dishes, knight battles, exhibitions and many other things!

August - September

 “Sorochynskiy Yarmarok” (Sorochynskiy Fair)

At the end of August, the most famous fair of national themes takes place in the village of Velyki Sorochyntsi. Here you can become acquainted with traditions and feel the spirit of the modern exhibition industry.

Festival-fair “Hutsulska Brynza” (Hutsul brynza) 

In September, the city of Rakhiv in Zakarpattya begins to bloom with “vyshyvankas”. The zest of the festival is tasting real Hutsul brynza. Songs sound from everywhere; cymbals, tambourines and violins play. Once you have tasted Hutsul cuisine and danced the dance of your soul near a bonfire, you can live for a year on your recollections. But not longer than that!

Ethnographic Hutsul Festival-fair “Zakharetsky Harchyk” 

Every year this festival is conducted in the village of Pidzakharychi in the Putyvlsky district of Chernivtsi region during the last weekend in September. Participants demonstrate pictorial art and decorative applied art in their creative workshops. Anyone who wants can participate in master classes given by famous masters of the art of making “pysankas”, cooperage and embroidery. Folklore groups, rides on horses and carts, various contests, and humorous programs will make you forget any sadness and the routine for a long time.

All-Ukrainian Art Event of Authentic Music “Rostoky”

In the middle of December, the city of Chernihiv offers concerts with the participation of singing, instrumental and dance groups and performers who demonstrate folk art in its authentic tradition. Having visited this event, you will understand that authentic music is alive and its sources are inexhaustible.
